This giraffe photograph was taken by nature photographer, Margot Carrera, at Safari Park in San Diego.
The way to tell one giraffe from another is their spots. There are no two alike. Their spots are like a fingerprint. This is one of the younger giraffes at the park. We had the pleasure of being able to feed her some leaves by hand. When she came down to pick the leaf out of my hand, she noticed my clasp in my hair and thought that would taste good too. Luckily it was firmly attached so she couldn't eat it but she did slobber on my hair. The cost of getting good pictures.
